Favors are the perfect way to show friends and family your thanks! Whether you’re planning a wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, or another special occasion - small gift favors can make the day so special and personal.
However, keep in mind - while saying thank you to your guests is a must, favors are completely optional! It’s a great gesture but sometimes, it’s just not in the budget and that’s completely fine! Your friends and family are there to celebrate you! If you do want to include them, we collected a few ideas, so read on and let us know your favorites in the comments!
Succulents and Plants
Year after year, plants have been a favorite gift idea! You can gift seeds to plant later, or mini succulent plants for guests to take home. Add a cute tag like “See our love grow” or the recipient’s name, which can also double as an escort card. If you don’t want to worry about watering plants, feel free to use artificial succulents. These Small Echeveria Succulent Plants already come with the pot included for no-fuss gifting!
Handmade
There’s a reason why we have Pinterest boards filled with DIY gift projects - making favors for your family and friends just feels so special. This is a chance for you to share your creativity with your guests. One of the best favors we ever received was a mosaic heart with the couple’s initials on the back to remember their special day. It’s still on display at our home! So for handmade favors, think about getting crafty. You can make your own sugar scrub, mini terrariums, coasters, and so much more. Just keep in mind that this will be best for smaller guest lists - you don’t want to stress yourself out by having to make 300 candles or anything too complicated.
Bubbles
This is a great favor idea if your wedding or party includes kids. Not only will bubbles keep kids busy, but also make super fun photo memories. You can also reuse them by refilling the bubble containers after the event is over!
Gift Soaps
For larger guests lists, pre-made favors are the way to go. Soaps are a great option since they are already packaged in a gift box and ready to be presented to your guests!
Gift Sets
For an easy gift idea, try pre-made gift sets like coaster sets, wine bottle stoppers, or pizza cutters. Depending on your guest list and budget, the gift sets can make your guests feel extra special! Similar to gift soaps, there’s minimal decorations required - simply add to your favors table or place-settings for your guests to enjoy!
Seasonal
For outdoor weddings, think about seasonal favors. Keep your guests cool in the summer with handheld fans, umbrellas or sunglasses. You can also make a gift tote bag for your bridal shower with sunblock, flip flops and chapstick. For fall and winter weddings, think cozy - scarves, shawls or blanket.
Edible Favors
Edible favors are a great way to share your passion for food and tasty treats with your guests! Be sure to find out any allergies or restrictions before hand, you want to make sure everyone feels included. For our baby shower, we went with sugar cookies. Fun to make, and fun to decorate! You can also gift favor boxes filled with candy, cupcakes, mini jars of honey or jam, or go savory with pickled veggies. We recently attended a wedding where the groom made his own mead to share with guests as favors - it was a big hit with everyone!
Mini Champagne Bottles
Speaking of drinks, they really deserve their own category. Mini champagne or wine bottles are the perfect favor for bridal or bachelorette parties. You can also gift mini coke bottles or home-made lemonade! Add a paper straw with a fun ribbon and you’re ready to celebrate!
However you decide to thank you guests or present your favors - the sky's the limit! We hope these gifts gave you a few ideas for your next party or special event but if we missed any - please share them with us in the comments, email us at [email protected] or tag us on Instagram @BalsaCircle.
