Thanksgiving Decor Essentials
Thanksgiving celebrations are around the corner! We can't wait for our family to get together and share their favorite recipes and take it easy before getting into the swing of holiday planning. If you're hosting Thanksgiving this year, you probably have the menu well in hand, but what about the decorations? Not to worry, we have a few ideas to help you set the perfect table for your friends & family to enjoy!
Set the table with charger plates
Charger plates are a must have table decor item if you're having a formal dinner. You've no doubt heard the saying, "Life is short, use fine china!" - the same applies to chargers. Charger plates make tables look absolutely stunning and at the same time, they can protect your tables and linens from spills.
Accent place-settings with napkins
Paired with charger plates, fabric napkins create a welcoming tabletop for your family and friends. Our kids' favorite "chore" is by far creating fun napkin folds for Thanksgiving. We'll look up a couple tutorials and voila, the little ones are busy while helping set the table! Try our easy turkey napkin fold if you're just starting out - it's super easy and the kids love it! Short on time? You can also simply loop the napkin through a napkin ring, place on top of your plate and you're done!
Layering a napkin on top of your charger and plates creates an eye-catching design that will simply delight your guests and make your table look luxurious - without spending a fortune!
Get cozy with candles
Once you've decided on your place-settings, creating a centerpiece will really pull the whole look together. Here, you can really get creative with mixing silk flowers, garlands, and candles! To keep your tables from looking too cluttered, choose 2-4 candles in candle holders and set them throughout. If kids are joining you, sub candles with LED lights for safety.
If you're taking inspiration from the changing seasons, accent your orange and burgundy tables with gold candle holders. Keeping the color palette on the warm side will help you create that cozy atmosphere that's perfect for family gatherings.
Plan for the unexpected
Extra guests coming? The more, the merrier! Disposable tableware makes clean-up easy, so it's always a good idea to have a few extra cups and utensils on hand. Make sure to stock up on dinner plates and napkins for plus-ones that may join your party!
Play with textures
From napkins to centerpieces, Thanksgiving is the perfect time to play around with textures inspired by fall and Mother Nature. Add wooden slices to your table-scape in place of traditional dish trays. Use velvet napkins for a dash of luxury. Place centerpieces in natural wood candle holders, and bring the outdoors to your table.
While our Thanksgiving recipes are tried and true, you can really get creative with festive decorations. Try our napkin fold (see video tutorial below) and elevate the look of your dinner table this season!
