Fun DIY Projects to Make at Home
If you are spending time at home and looking for something to do, we’ve come up with a list of fun indoor DIY projects to help ease the boredom and increase productivity. These are great to make with your kids or to give as gifts! Be sure to let us know in the comments which project is your favorite!
Disney Minnie Ears Board
If you are looking for boredom-buster ways to keep the kids entertained, a DIY activity usually does the trick. Plus, it helps decrease screen time and develop their creativity. This is a great chance to get creative!
Where to Start
To start, trace a plate and cut the round shape from your cork board or mat. Do the same, with smaller circles for the ears. Once your glue is dry, add the silk flowers! You can also add smaller craft flowers or foam flowers. When you're done, display in your home as a centerpiece/trivet, hang on your wall or use to display your pins.
Bonus Points
Add a bow or glitter for even more Minnie cuteness, or create a super cute Minnie Ears Headband! For this DIY, all you need is an old headband, fabric scraps and glue gun. Not a fan of Disney? Why not create a colorful floral headband using silk flowers and 3D butterflies.
Flower Frames
Got an old frame in the storage? Put it to use by creating a beautiful flower frame. Start by gathering your favorite silk flowers and some greenery, arrange them the way you like onto the frame, then hold the flowers in place using hot glue. You can also make a moss frame using wood slices and artificial succulents.
DIY Greenery Hoops
Another project that you can make with silk flowers is this Floral Hoop Wreath that is great for spring and summer decor. You can also use this as a decoration for your nursery for a touch of character.
We also love this Greenery Hoop that you can easily achieve using artificial greenery garlands and metal hoops.
Fun with Paper Flowers and Butterflies
Another tool that we love using for DIY projects are 3D Butterfly stickers! You can watch this video here to get ideas on how you can incorporate these stickers for various decorations, like centerpieces for your home or wall art for your bedroom.
Love paper flowers? We do, too! Making origami paper flowers is a great calm zen activity if you are looking for ways to relax.
We hope you find these activities useful in taking advantage of your extended time indoors. If you’ve tried one of these DIY projects, don’t forget to share your creations by tagging @BalsaCircle or #BalsaCircle on Instagram, we'd love to see your creative projects!
